SHEFFIELD Eagles hope to continue playing some of their high-profile Championship games at Bramall Lane next season.
Eagles’ head coach Mark Aston will seek to agree dates – most likely for Friday night games – when the 2013 fixtures are released later this month.
“We will play some games at Bramall Lane, when and how many I can’t say yet,” said Aston. “We have a good relationship with Sheffield United and we’ll have to see what fits in with them and us.
“If it’s Friday night it might be Bramall Lane, if it’s Sunday it might be Don Valley.
Last season Eagles played four of their 14 home games at the Lane, with Don Valley Stadium, their home for more than 20 years, the main venue.
Rugby league’s second tier competition is increased to 14 teams for the new season – including Championship One title winners Doncaster.
Eagles begin the defence of their Grand Final trophy in the first round of games on Sunday, February 3.
Aston will take his squad to Limoux in southern France in January to round off pre-season training. It follows the Eagles partnership agreement with the French Elite League club.
