SHEFFIELD Eagles will face a Hunslet Hawks team boosted by on loan Super League stars.
Hunslet have a partnership deal with Leeds Rhinos and could include players who have played in major finals.
Centre Jimmy Kleinhorst appeared in the Challenge Cup final and Australian forward Mitch Achurch was in the Leeds 17 for the World Club Challenge. Mark Aston is a critic of the dual registration system; Eagles have refused to link up with a Super League club.
“Hunslet have had a helping hand from the dual reg. They are not a bad team and they are playing well at home,” he said.
“We will have to be good, it’s no point in doing all the hard work over the last few weeks then dropping our standards. We need to go there with a professional approach. The young kids like Jimmy Klienhorst and the fullback Jimmy Watson are very good and Jamel Chisholm is the nearest thing to Rob Worrincy I’ve seen: he is the fastest man in Super League. We have to be mindful of their pace.
“Mitch Achurch played in the World Club Challenge then two weeks later ended up playing for Hunslet – that’s dual reg!
“You can’t blame Hunslet for making dual reg work but the issue is when players get pulled back that’s when it hurts.”
Eagles’ new signing Dario Esposito’s hopes of a debut have been hit by flu. Prop Liam Higgins is still recovering for an ankle injury.
