SHEFFIELD Eagles forward Michael Knowles believes the team can make a point to the fans at Bramall Lane tomorrow night (7.30).
Dewsbury Rams have been going well in the Championship and will test the Eagles renewed confidence after the battling win at York.
“It was just a case of winning at York, sometimes it doesn’t matter how you do it you just need to win,” he said.
“Coming off a couple of defeats you want to put a plan together and get back on that winning mentality. We’ve done that, it was hard graft and we had to dig in there.”
Knowles, signed from Barrow Raiders, is making an impact after a halting start which was interrupted when he chipped a bone in his wrist in the early season games.
Alex Szostak’s two-match ban gave him an extended spell in the starting 13 and his powerful wide-running fits well into Eagles’ attacking style.
He said: “I got the injury in the Northern Rail and it takes a couple of games to get your confidence back plus I was new to the team and didn’t know the structure on how the team played but I’m comfortable on the left side now and hopefully I can stick there.”
Knowles is likely to keep his place when Szostak returns to the squad for tomorrow’s game against Dewsbury.
A win will reinforce the Eagles place in the top six and for Knowles playing at Bramall Lane will help the game plan.
He added: “We can improve from here, we’ll work in training and get a few things sorted out and hopefully we can get a good performance and put a few points on someone.
“A big pitch is good for us because we like to put the ball about and hopefully it’ll be nice and dry and not like the ‘swimming pool’ at York.”
