PLAYMAKER Simon Brown will face strict physical tests before he is passed fit to line-up for Sheffield Eagles at the weekend.
Brown was knocked out cold in a tackle only three minutes after the kick-off of the 14-12 defeat at Halifax.
For coach Mark Aston - who, it was announced on Tuesday is to double up as Ireland coach - the loss of Brown was a big factor in the Eagles slipping to their second successive defeat in the Championship. He’ll want him in the team to play Hunslet Hawks at Bramall Lane on Sunday. “If Simon had been on for the 80 minutes we would have had his great kicking game and probably won the game.”
Dual registration loan players winger Vinny Finigan and centre Jason Crookes could be pulled back by parent club Bradford Bulls and miss Sunday’s game. Bulls’ Gareth Raynor has been banned for two matches and the pair may be recalled as cover.
