Sheffield Eagles will celebrate a huge milestone with the 1000th game in the club’s history on Sunday against Featherstone Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium, kick off 4.15pm.

The club has racked up 999 games since first taking to the field against Rochdale Hornets in September 1984 and to celebrate the achievement up to 1000 local school children are being invited to attend the game.

The 1000th game has added significance as it sees the Eagles take on league rivals Featherstone Rovers who are vying to take the Eagles’ play-off spot away with a win at the Keepmoat.

Eagles Head Coach Mark Aston commented, “It’s a massive game this Sunday. We’re right at the business end of the season and we’ll be fighting hard to get the point we need to secure a top four finish.”

The Eagles players will warm up in special one off tee shirts which will be made available for fans to buy after the game. The club are also giving fans the chance to enjoy this historic landmark in style by offering special hospitality packages.
