Rival clubs in double header
MANY of Sheffield's top young athletes will be coming together in a special 'double header' meeting at the Don Valley Stadium on Sunday.
Rivals clubs City of Sheffield AC and Hallamshire Harriers have combined to put on a Youth Athletes League meeting – the first time the clubs have joined forces to stage such an event.
Although the clubs are in different divisions of the UK Young Athletes League, they will compete alongside the other six teams at the same time, although they are scored separately.
Many of the teams' athletes were at the South Yorkshire Championships at Doncaster last weekend where one of Sunday's competitiors, Adam Khan of City of Sheffield, became the longest Under 15 triple jumper in the country. The events start around noon.
