Pair on form to help Askern to doubles league victory over Rossington

NORA Buxton (21-8) and Eddie Curtis (21-3) were the pick of Askern's winners in their 148-103 Doubles League One win over Rossington.

Roundwood chalked up a 150-126 win over Bawtry.

Pilks Rec had good scores from Mick Baker (21-9), Shirley Thornton (21-3), Dave Thornton (21-7) and Mick Harper (21-6) when beating Division Two rivals Westfield Park 154-99.

Terry Plant (21-6), John Aveyard (21-7), Mick Poppleton (21-2) and Glenyse Cullingworth (21-9) all won well for Eden Grove-Pegler in their 166-88 victory over Pilks Pensioners.

Adwick B's clean sweep of winners in their 168-94 Division Three win over Scawthorpe included Brian Stubbs (21-2) and Maurice Mortlock (21-7). Brian Turner (21-2) and Ivor Parlett (21-4) stood out for Thorne in their 157-104 win over Eden Grove-Pegler B.

Nellie Hyner and Maureen Dudill (21-6) and Ken Waddington and Dave Concannon (21-8) won well for Roundwood in their 74-49 Over-60s Doubles League One victory over Armthorpe.

Carol and Keith Raven (21-9) helped Adwick take a half-time lead, but Hazel and Reg Cuthbert (21-7) and Margaret Smith and Ted Owens (21-8) gave Bawtry a 71-57 win.

Brian Cuffling and Ken Ramsay (21-6) caught the eye for Elmfield Park in their 74-58 Division Two win.

Eric and Nora Buxton (21-2) gave Askern a flying start in their 79-43 win over Thorne.

Bernard Thompson and Bill Atkinson won 21-7 for Pensioners in their 79-56 win over Adwick B.

Joan and Derek Gabbitus (21-3) and Ken Pearson and Malcolm Tetley (21-7) excelled for Parklands B in their 74-52 Division Three win at Hexthorpe.
