New hooker
DONCASTER Knights boss Lynn Howells had added what what could be the final piece of the jigsaw ahead of the 2009-10 Championship season by signing 25 year-old hooker Steven Lawrie.
Lawrie captained the Edinburgh Under-18, U-19 and U-20 teams which won their respective district championships in successive years between 2002 and 2004.
The 6ft 1in hooker, who weighs in at 16st 3lb, played for Scotland U-19s while playing with Currie in 2002-2003. He then switched to Watsonians before making his U-21 international debut against France in the 2004-2005 campaign.
He had replacement appearances in the home matches against Ireland, Italy, and Wales that year as well as playing in three of the World Championship games in Argentina.
He joined Edinburgh Gunners as an apprentice in 2005, earning a full contract in 2007.
