Knights kids on hand for legends event

DONCASTER Knights junior teams will provide the ball boys for the Legends of Rugby competition being staged at Sheffield's English Institute of Sport on December 17.

Some of the players already declared for the Touch Rugby competition include former Dons star Carl Hall, former Great Britain and British Lions dual-code international, John Bentley, former New Zealand captain Robbie Paul, dual-code Wales international Iestyn Harris, former St Helens and Great Britain captain Paul Sculthorpe and Sheffeld Eagles boss Mark Aston.

The teams will wear specially commissioned indoor kits and play in squads of nine with six players taking the floor at one time and operating unlimited interchange.

England Rugy Union 2003 World Cup hero Neil Back, will also be involved.

Said Back, currently head coach at Leeds Carnegie: "To see union and league stars playing in the same teams will be a must for all rugby fans. Touch is very fast and with the skills on display it will be a fantastic night at the EIS."

The event will be broadcast by Sky Sports over the festive period.

Tickets 15 (adults), 5 (juniors) are available from.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk.

They can also be purchased from Doncaster Knights on 01302 831388.
