It's Tav at the top as Pegler beaten to retain lead

TAVERN retained their four-point lead at the top of the Premier Division following their 3-2 win over Athletico Pegler.

Daniel Read and Adrian Brown shared out the Pegler consolation goals.

Bullcroft Sports & Pastimes continue to head the chasing pack after beating second bottom Stainforth by the odd goal in three.

Gary Mundy scored both Bullcroft goals with Kevin Rickatson replying for Stainforth.

Red Lion remain rooted to the foot of the table after going down 3-0 at home to Spinney.

Championship leaders AFC Bentley, who have played three more games more than their Armthorpe-based rivals, beat second-placed Coronation Club 3-1.

Shaun Atkinson and Gareth Collinson (2) were the Bentley marksmen with David Law scoring the Coronation consolation.

Social Bar took over top spot after beating Bentley Top Club 5-3.

Corner Pin climbed into the top four on the back of a 3-2 win at Eden Grove (Michael Sibanda, Vinnie Ogby).

Finningley Albion beat fellow strugglers Askern Railway 5-3.

Carcroft Village (Gavin Hunter) remain second bottom following their 3-1 defeat at Rossington Welfare – David Jenkinson, John Geddis and Tom Cherry all netting for the home side.

Finningley Athletic continue to fly high at the top of Division One after beating lower mid-table Three Horseshoes United by the odd goal in seven.

Peter Lindsay notched a hat-trick for the winners, with James Shenton also netting.

Second-placed Toll Bar romped to a surprisingly emphatic 7-1 win away to third-placed Rossington Labour Club.

Craig led the way with a hat-trick with Squire, Potts, Dunhill and Frazer also hitting the back of the net.

Division Two leaders Stag Inn (Adam Slater 2, Lee Tiley) opened up a four-point lead at the top of the table when beating bottom club Horse & Groom Athletic 3-1.

Second-placed Edenthorpe Cougars (Andrew Mellor, Craig Dallas, David Kent) lost ground after being held to a 3-3 draw by second-bottom Carpenters Arms.

Sprotbrough moved level on points with Cougars on the back of a 4-2 win at Fox & Hounds.

Daniel Armistead, Natal Callus and Calum Smith (2) claimed the Sprotbrough goals with James Cheswick and David Buck netting for the home side.
