Experienced forward Peter Green has agreed a new one-year deal with Sheffield Eagles.
The 31-year-old was part of the team that won a second successive Championship Grand Final last weekend.
Green who can cover any of the forward positions has played 127 games since joining the Eagles from Doncaster near the end of the 2009 season.
There were fears that he might be tempted to rejoin Doncaster with several other Championship clubs also believed to have shown an interest.
Green joined the Eagles as a back row forward but increasingly has been used in the front row after coming off the bench.
Coach Mark Aston said: “It’s a boost to get Peter signed up for another season. He played a big role this year and it’s important that we are keeping the nucleus of the Grand Final squad at the club.”
