SHEFFIELD Eagles can ‘refill their tanks’ before they face the might of St Helens in the Challenge Cup.
Coach Mark Aston says his team gave everything in the 28-16 win at Batley Bulldogs and now have the bonus of a weekend without a match to recover.
The Eagles didn’t score a point in the second half but restricted Batley to only two tries in the final 40 minutes.
Aston plans a recovery week before the build up to the fifth round game against St Helens on Saturday May 7.
He said: “At half-time I challenged the lads to empty the tanks and they did. We kept the tempo high early in the first half but I was disappointed when we went away from the game plan.
“In the second half we only had a completion rate of 40-odd percent and if we hadn’t been so good in the first half it might have been a closer game.”
