WE produced another really good performance against top-of-the-table Swinton Lions in Easter Monday’s Co-operative Championship One clash at the Keepmoat Stadium.

After going behind 18-0 in the first 12 minutes, we ended up winning the last 60 minutes 32-18 but at the end of the day still came away with a loss going down 32-36.

We need to stay in the arm wrestle and not give ourselves too much to do in games.

Trust me, if we are close with 20 minutes to go I can’t see any team living with us as our fitness levels and team spirit is really good.

At least we managed to pick up a another bonus point out of the game which is something, and keeps us clocking up points in the league table.

We do have a couple of games in hand on a few of the teams above us, so we must make sure we pick points up when we play those games.

The atmosphere once again was really good. The fans got right behind the lads.

The Doncaster public know their rugby league and as long as the boys are trying, and giving their all, they don’t really mind about the result.

That showed on Monday when they really clapped and sung their hearts out to the players at the end of the match as they all knew the boys had a good go.

I said to coach Tony Miller after the game ‘that is all the supporters ask.’

Even when we used to play and we got beaten by 20 points or more, they used to cheer us off because we had given our all.

Tony’s reply was: ‘I know, mate.’

We are back on the road again this weekend - we travel over to Oldham on Sunday.

Oldham have had a few good wins lately so it will be another tough game but our players are determined to get back to winning ways.

We should, fingers crossed, have dual-registered Chris Green and Nev Morrison available after Hull called them back as cover for the busy Easter period.

One or two others might have got over their knocks so we will be looking to get a victory at Oldham.
