PROMOTION-chasing Doncaster have boosted their squad ahead of next season.

Both 24 year-old full-back or three-quarter Lee Waterman and 21 year-old back-rower Mike Kelly have put pen to paper on deals for the 2012 season.

A former Great Britain international, Waterman was regarded as one of the best amateur players in the country and toured the South Pacific Islands in 2009.

He turned professional two years ago with York City Knights and was their leading points scorer in their 2010 Championship One promotion-winning team. He also made the Championship One Team of the Year.

Doncaster-born Kelly starred for Gateshead in their league game against the Dons earlier this month.

He spent three seasons in the junior ranks at Super League Castleford Tigers before joining Championship One side Hunslet Hawks, who were promoted alongside the Knights last season.

Dons’ boss Tony Miller has several other targets.
