Good to see Mbu on our trip to face Skolars

Have your say

THIS weekend we play the much-improved London Skolars in a Championship One game, which should be very entertaining.

Joe Mbu is doing a great job in the capital. As an ex- Don I wish him all the best.

Last we went to Gateshead and picked up the points, which is all you can ask for. When you play against a team who have had some big defeats, you are on a hiding to nothing as everyone expects you to win by at least 50.

Well this is rugby league and the game throws some real challenges at you if you are not fully focused.

Warrington, for example, have been putting up big scores in the Super League and then lose to Salford at home. What’s that all about?

Last weekend I presented awards at the Moorends ARLFC’s presentation evening. It was great to see the likes of Howard Roberts, Tony Chappell and ‘big’ Ernie Lake, who is still playing at the tender age of 51.

What a great servant to that club he has been. I would like to thank them for their donation to the Christchurch Earth Quake fund and thank Howard who won the cash raffle prize and donated his winnings to the fund.

Anyone interested in going on the Wembley trip call Ray or Jackie Green for details (01302 765888). You can pay in instalments. Cost is £60.
