The Dons will have new signing Matt Groat on debut in tomorrow’s Championship clash second-placed Bradford.

The prop, who has played at the top level in Australia, was signed a fortnight ago.

“He brings something to the team that we’ve been missing,” said Dons’ boss Paul Cooke, who also welcomes back former England winger Peter Fox.

The Dons will also have promising Hull FC teenage stand-off Jordan Abdull in their squad

“He’ll give us some quality, a good kicking game and good game management,” said Cooke, who is hoping the half-back will be available on a regular basis.

Looking ahead to the game Cooke said: “I’ve got no questions over the players’ desire ahead of the game and I know what I’m going to get from them.

“When we play teams that we shouldn’t get close to, the players always show the right attitude and I’m sure that the players will at least give that.

“Whether that’s good enough to win remains to be seen.

“Bradford haven’t lost in the league since round one when Leigh beat them but they’ve been close to being beaten a couple of times.”

“They lost in the Challenge Cup against Hull KR (despite leading late into the game) last weekend but will want to prove a point and return to winning ways.

“We’ve got a difficult task when you consider their full-time status and the quality coaching of their coaching staff.

“But we had the dual-reg and loan players train with us on Thursday and I’m hoping - in fact I’m adamant - that will be an ongoing thing. The mood in the camp is good and the players are looking forward to the game,”
