Chief executive Carl Hall has issued a rallying cry for supporters to spur the Dons on in their South Yorkshire derby with Sheffield Eagles.

Sunday’s Championship play-offs ‘decider’ will see fourth-placed Doncaster host fifth-placed Eagles - a side which defeated Paul Cooke’s men at the Keepmoat back in August.

Hall insists Doncaster are keen for revenge against their South Yorkshire rivals and he believes strong support at the weekend can help Cooke’s outfit over the line.

“It’ll be a cracker. Sheffield will want to win and we want to win,” said Hall.

“Regardless of what happens at the game, regardless of whether I’m sitting here and saying the players are tired, we’re busted [with injuries] and all that, it doesn’t matter. They will pick themselves up off the floor for this game.

“It’s a big game, the players will give everything they have got - I know that.”

The New Zealander went on: “It will be a beauty.

“All we need is for the fans to come out and support us, get behind the boys and I know that gives them a lift.

“We need everyone down there.

“Sheffield think it’s their home ground now because they’ve had a couple of good wins against us - they won against Batley at the Keepmoat last week.

“But we’ll certainly let them know it’s our home ground this weekend.”

SUNDAY: Doncaster RLFC v Sheffield Eagles, 3pm, Keepmoat Stadium.
