Paul Cooke’s men face Super League side Warrington Wolves in the last 16 of the Tetley’s Challenge Cup thanks to a 68-18 win over Hemel Stags.

The Dons will face Warrington on the weekend of April 25-27 for the fifth round tie.

To get there, they had to overcome a potential banana skin in Championship One outfit Hemel.

Despite a strong start with tries through Lee Waterman, Stewart Sanderson, Mick Butterfield and Richard Wilkinson, the Stags hit back through converted scores from Essad Al-Zubaidi, Alex Ingerfield and James Hill for 22-18.

Doncaster gave themselves a 10-point gap as Mike Emmett, who replaced the injured Scott Spaven, drove over before Grant Edwards scored as Doncaster took a 34-18 lead into the interval.

Chris Spurr, who retired at the end of last season, returned for Doncaster and was part of the side who engineered another try for the hosts - this time the impressive Wilkinson scoring.

Further unanswered tries from Ryan Wilson, Spurr, Sanderson, Liam Welham and Cooke capped off a 68-18 final score.
