FOLLOWING a week off, the players will be charged up for Sunday’s game at Gateshead, where we hope to win.

We need to make some headway in the league table as it is coming to the business end of the season.

Every game is vital and we can’t take any team lightly as was highlighted last weekend when second-placed Keighley lost at home to lowly London Skolars.

But if we can go on a mini winning run we should catch up to the pace-setters.

Last Friday we all saw the first of the origin series where England took on the Exiles for the first time with the Exiles scoring on the last play to win the game.

I feel the fixture is very important if England want to do well in the annual Four Nations and the World Cup in 2013, as the game gives them a very tough fixture which can only benefit them in the future.

Talking of the 2013 World Cup, we had the Rugby Football League down last week looking at the facilities and hotels around the area.

We have our fingers crossed that we will get at least one game at the Keepmoat Stadium and to host a team would be a massive achievement for Doncaster. But we are that we are up against some very strong bids from other towns and cities.

Don’t forget the dinner next week for the Christchurch Earthquake appeal at the stadium. For tickets at £35 phone 01302 765888.
