DONCASTER wheelchair fencer Suzannah Rockett insists all the signs point to a strong finish to her World Championships assault after a much-improved second outing in Italy yesterday.
The 44-year-old took to the women’s foil looking to erase the memories of a disappointing epee competition just 24 hours earlier that saw her lose all five of her matches and score just three hits in the process.
And despite failing to notch up a victory, the Sheffield Fencing Club member trebled her number of hits to nine in a far better performance.
She said: “I fenced a lot better in the foil. What I was doing was of much better quality. I am much more pleased with my performance.”
