UNWANTED Sheffield Wednesday skipper Darren Purse has signed for Millwall until the end of the season following his departure from Hillsborough "by mutual consent."
The 33-year-old goes into the squad for Saturday's trip to Leicester City.
He is the second defender to arrive at the New Den this week following the loan signing of Jens Berthel Askou from Championship rivals Norwich.
Millwall boss Kenny Jackett said: "Darren brings great experience to the squad and strengthens us in the central defensive area where we are struggling at the moment.
"He's a Millwall fan and I'm sure he will relish the opportunity to play for this club."
Owls manager Alan Irvine said: "He was always a first-class professional on the pitch and off it.
"Captaining the club was a role he took very seriously and he showed that in the dressing room and off the field with his work in the community."
