Sheep and land painted to create ‘live art’ in field project

Here’s a baarmy idea...

Sheep and fields in Barnsley are being turned into a giant painting themed around the Tour.

The town’s coat of arms will be painted on one piece of land on June 25, while flowers and sheep painted as bees will be on another to create a piece of ‘live art’ opposite Langsett reservoir.

Farmers and artists worked on the project after approaches by James Brust, from Barnsley Council, who said: “I wanted to show everybody watching at home that the cyclists pass through Barnsley and showcase the town’s local talent.”
