Ding aims for Crucible glory

NEW Welsh Open champion Ding Junhui is hoping title success in Newport will inspire him to glory at this year’s World Championship.

Sheffield-based Ding clinched his first ranking title for two years when he beat Mark Selby 9-6 at the Newport Centre. And with victory the world No 7 is targeting winning his first world crown at the Crucible in May.

“I have a chance of doing well at the Crucible,” said Ding. “I’m learning all the time.”
