Blythe not the man in Oman

ADAM Blythe continued his strong early season form with a good finish in the first stage of the Tour of Oman.

After ending last week’s Tour of Qatar in 10th place, the 22-year-old from Sheffield, who is part of American team BMC Racing, came home in the peloton behind stage winner Andre Greipel of Germany on the 159 kilometres from the Al Alam Royal Palace to Wadi Al Hoqay.

Blythe, who said on Twitter, that he “just didn’t have the legs” to challenge for the stage victory can look forward to today’s 140.5km from Sur to Wadi Dayqah Dam.

The race ends on Sunday.
