Blythe ends Tour in style

ADAM Blythe completed an excellent week’s work in the desert yesterday with a 10th place finish overall in the Tour of Qatar.

The 22-year-old from Sheffield, riding for American team BMC Racing, began the week with second place in the first stage and only a puncture in stage four prevented him from finishing even higher up the overall standings.

Blythe came home 29th on the 120.5 kilometre ride from Sealine Beach Resort to Doha Corniche. France’s Arnaud Demare taking victory. Belgium’s Tom Boonen, who beat Blythe to the finish on the first day, won overall for his fourth Tour of Qatar triumph.
