Millers game is put back

ROTHERHAM United have been forced, after all, to move their second home match of the season due to the U2 concert at Don Valley Stadium.

The Millers will now play Rochdale on Sunday, August 23 with a 3pm kick off rather than the day before.

The U2 concert - one of only two being staged in England - is at Don Valley the previous Thursday and the club were concerned about the lack of preparation time ahead of a Saturday kick off.

After consultations between officials from DVS and the Millers, it was decided to move the game back 24 hours.

Meanwhile, in the wake of signing a new contract, midfielder Danny Harrison says he is confident aboutb the club's future.

"There is loads of ambition and I see no reason why we shouldn't be in the play-offs or automatic places next year," said the 26-year-old.

"The squad is looking better, and we are confident we can get back to League One."

Rotherham's home game with Chesterfield on September 5 now has an earlier kick-off time of 2pm.
