Liz leads the way in Parklands Over-60s victory

LEAGUE secretary Liz Hall (21-6) starred for Parklands in their 160-126 Doncaster Bowls Association Over-60s League Division One win at Bawtry.

Wins from Jim Pickford (21-7) and Alan Wilby (21-6) ensured a 146-122 victory for Tickhill at home to Pilkingtons Recreation.

John Laycock (21-8) was Brodsworth’s only winner as Pete Strutt (21-4) and Mick Finley (21-5) stood out for Thorpe Marsh Bentley in their 155-93 victory. Parklands chalked up a 157-153 win over visiting Brodsworth.

Mick Harper (21-6), Charlie Wootton (21-9) and Ken Newcombe (21-5) had good wins for Pilks Rec in their 156-113 victory over Bawtry.

Colin Draper (21-5), Nellie Hyner (21-4) and John Gregory (21-8) were the best of Roundwood’s eight winners in their 168-96 rout of Tickhill.

Harry Oxberry (21-8) starred for Adwick in their 152-136 Division Two derby win over Carcroft.

Richard Commons (21-6) won the match (148-139) for Armthorpe at home to Askern.

Nora Buxton (21-6), Eddie Curtis (21-8) and Eric Buxton (21-9) won easily for Askern in their 168-90 win over Bentley.

Glennis Crowcroft (21-6) and Terry Mosley (21-4) were the best winners for Yorkshire Main in their 155-103 victory over Westfield Park. John Woodyatt (21-8) gave Eden Grove-Pegler a good start, but Cliff Smith (21-6) and Joe Dixon (21-4) put Yorkshire Main on the road to a 134-124 victory.

Janet Dodsworth and Sid Price (both 21-9) and Frank Potts (21-5) all did well for Westfield Park in their 157-103 win over Adwick .

John Stead (21-5) and Eddie Hailes (21-8) won well for Hexthorpe, but Keith Wright (21-8) and Bob Sisman (21-7) ensured that Westfield Park won their derby clash 134-118.

Doreen Heptinstall won 21-8 for Brodsworth B but ended up on the losing side as Colin Stothard (21-9) shone for Bawtry B in their 149-138 Division Three success.

John Richards (21-9) and Henry Hall (21-7) were best for Yorkshire Main B in their 150-137 win over Rossington B.
