THE exact route of the 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart in Yorkshire will be announced later today.
It’s expected to confirm that there will be a stage finish in the world’s biggest annual sporting event in South Yorkshire, most probably Sheffield city centre.
There will be two stages in the county on July 5 and 6 next year with Leeds favourite to host the opening stage.
It is the first time the race has visited the north of England, previously it has been on the south coast and in London.
Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme and Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive Gary Verity will host the presentation at Leeds Town Hall, which is expected to be attended by more than 120 journalists from across Europe.
