LAST pair Phil Stones and Ryan Lysons (21-6) just fell short of drawing the game for Carcroft in their 69-68 Doncaster Bowls Association Doubles League Division One clash at Denaby.

David Hunt and Ken Booth (21-4) and Jim Garbutt and Dave Henson (21-2) excelled for Armthorpe in their 84-37 win at Rossington.

Pilks Rec won 73-64 at Westfield Park.

Adam Dawson and Steve Yates won 21-9 for Yorkshire Main in their 73-57 victory over visiting Askern.

Don Howe and Eddie Curtis won 21-6 as Askern climbed off the bottom of the table at Westfield Park’s expense following their 84-51 win over their fellow strugglers.

Liz Hall and Ken Ramsay (21-7) were the best pairing for Parklands in their 75-61 Division Two win over Armthorpe B. Brodsworth chalked up a 79-58 win at Eden Grove-Peglers.

Trevor Marshall and Paul Barnett (21-8) were the best of UNISON’s four winning pairs in their 84-55 victory at Pilks Rec B.

Stan and Joan Job (21-5) made a winning start for Carcroft B in their 74-65 victory over Bentley Colliery.

Richard Nolan and Brian Turner (21-9) and Cec Fowler and Ivor Parlett (21-6) both had good wins for Thorne in their 79-50 verdict over Hexthorpe. Harvesters reaped the spoils from an 81-59 win over Westfield Park B.

Father and son John and Liam O’Brien won 21-6 for Parklands C in their 74-61 Division Four success at Hexthorpe B.

Tickhill carded an 81-68 win at Parklands C.

Parklands B had good scores from Derek Birch and Bill Poulton (21-8) and Jean Birch and Trevor Parkinson (21-5) in their emphatic 84-44 win over Pilks Rec D.

Don Borthwick won 21-8 for Hexthorpe B in their 184-171 Saturday League Section D victory but Hexthorpe B’s Norman Brown (21-7) went one better. Last man Colin Stothard’s 21-6 win was too late to save Bawtry B from a 168-159 defeat after Ken Strutt (21-9), Matthew Griffiths (21-3) and Ron Strutt (21-7) performed well for Bentley Colliery.

Keith Wright (21-9) and Darren Rogers (21-5) won well for Westfield Park B, but Parklands B just nicked the match aggregate (173-171) thanks to Derek Cartwright (21-7).

Walter Barnett and Gary Salter both won 21-7 to give Harvesters an early lead, but Pilks Pensioners rallied to win 171-151.
