KEV Richardson (21-3) laid the foundations for Pilkington Recreation’s 156-121 Doncaster Bowls Association Midweek League Division One over Yorkshire Main.

Ted Owens won 21-6 for Bawtry but it proved in vain as the visitors lost 138-126 in their Division Two clash at Eden Grove-Peglers, for whom John Humphrey and Lloyd Bunting both won 21-8.

Gary Potter (21-8) starred for Rossington in their 147-129 win over Pilks Rec B.

Jack Richardson (21-2) and Pete Strutt (21-9) won well for Thorpe Marsh Bentley but Debbie Case’s 21-7 victory proved decisive for Hexthorpe as they scraped home 133-129.

Katie Morgan (21-8) and Brian Line (21-7) were the best winners for Westfield Park in their 146-116 victory over Rossington.

Alan Wilby’s 21-4 win was the only highlight for Tickhill in their 146-121 Division Three derby defeat at Bawtry B, for Tickhill, for whom Keith Bullock (21-9) led the way.

Yorkshire Main B - Martin Bowley (21-8) beat their C side 126-89 in a game in which both sides only fielded six players.

Daniel Evans finished on the losing side despite winning 21-5 as Pilkingtons Rec D suffered a 139-138 Division Four defeat at home to Westfield Park B.

Mick Brooks and Bill Fletcher both won 21-3 for Adwick B, and were ably supported by Carol Raven (21-7) as they posted a 134-108 win over Rossington B.

Gil Grinney (21-5) and Brian Greaves (21-9) caught the eye for fancied Thorne in their 167-74 rout of Carcroft C.

Phil Bamford won 21-6 for Hexthorpe B in their 157-122 victory over Unison B.
