Olympic Games hopeful Sam Hall has made a promising start in his bid to represent Great Britain in the European and World Junior Under 21s Judo Championships this year.
The 18-year-old, from Shiregreen, gained a well deserved bronze medal in Portugal European Junior Cup which was followed up this weekend by winning gold in Lithuania - at an event he also won last year.
Sam, a full-time athlete at the Centre of Excellence in Walsall, is now number four on the World Junior Ranking List - and is the highest ranked European Junior in his weight category.
He will now aim to keep up his good form having been picked to fight in Spain and Austria by the end of this month. He has also been selected to attend an Olympic Training Judo Camp, for seniors, over ten days in Belarus in June.
