Sheffield’s Jonny Marray and playing partner Colin Fleming bid for a place in the last eight of the Swiss Indoors today in Basel.
The British pair will take on Austria duo Julian Knowle and Oliver Marach with a tie against top seeds Rohan Bopanna and Eduoard Roger-Vasselin awaiting the winners.
Marray and Fleming have just two tournaments to play this season before the ATP Tour finishes for the year.
He said he’s hoping for a strong ending to his first full time season on the top tier of the tennis circuit.
“Looking for a good finish to the season here and in Paris (the Masters Series),” he said.
“Couple of big tournaments so a good opportunity.”
In Istanbul Serena Williams began her defence of her WTA Championships title with a crushing 6-3 6-1 win over Germany’s Angelique Kerber.
