Here is the action from Saturday’s closely-fought Challenge Cup game between Sheffield Steelers and Nottingham Panthers.
Steelers won the match 4-2 - and go on to play Hull Stingrays on Wednesday in the same competition.
A win against Hull Stingrays at iceSheffield will help coach Gerad Adams achieve his goal of winning the cup qualification group and entering the progression rounds of the competition
“You want to win the group stages for a number of reasons” said Adams.
“Firstly because of the confidence it gives the team, in fact the whole club. It’s good to see your name on the top of the list. Add to that the seeding process, first place in our group secures the team that finishes fourth in the other group.
“You know whoever you face at that stage it will be a tough game. The team we play we will fully respect however they will be entering that series knowing that the team they are playing finished top of a very difficult group
“We are progressing as a team, I see us getting better every week and us proceeding to the final stages of the Challenge Cup is important to us all. If we can win our group then all the better.”
