Rod Sarich spent last night in hospital following Steelers’ 3-2 victory against the Nottingham Panthers.
Sarich left the ice ahead of his team mates and headed to the club’s medical staff. Rod was then taken to hospital for tests and kept in overnight.
The club has been advised that further tests will be carried out later today before a full prognosis on the body injury can be delivered.
Sarich won’t participate in this weekend’s Continental Cup.
Head coach Ryan Finnerty said “This is bad news for Rod, he took a knock last night and played through. He wasn’t well after the game and was taken to hospital. We hope to hear later this afternoon the exact extent of the injury but early indications are that he will be out for some time. Whilst it’s bad news for us our first thoughts are with Roddy with good wishes for him to get back to full health as soon as possible”
