STEELERS have defensive concerns tonight as they host Cardiff Devils.

James Jorgensen (broken ankle) is out until February or March and Danny Meyers is unlikely to be risked because of concussion.

It’s ironic that Sheffield will be undermanned at the back; they set their stall out at the beginning of the season to build a stronger six-man blue line unit to decrease individual ice time.

Steelers’ owner Tony Smith hopes their offensive powers will see them through the weekend.

Smith expects a big night from Tom Sestito. The NHL winger signalled a period of average form was over when he cracked in a hat-trick against Braehead, last weekend.

The proprietor acknowledged: “Tom is a fantastic asset to our club when he is on his game - and he hasn’t always been - he’d be the first to admit that.

“But I think the hat-trick will mean we see a new Tom tonight. He has been on fire in training apparently and I have a feeling he is about to explode.”

n New signing Simon Ferguson will arrive in the country on Tuesday.
