Sheffield Steeldogs new season starts tonight (7.30pm) as they face off against the Elite League Hull Stingrays in a pre-season contest for the Yorkshire Cup.
The Steeldogs will be testing themselves against this higher league team at iceSheffield before the upcoming Premier League season starts at home on 25th September.
With the roster completed for the present, the team will be welcoming back their top scoring star who was new to England last year.
Janis Ozolins touched down in England just hours before tonight’s game. This will be the first time he has laced up his skates with his team mates since April and his presence will be a big boost to the team confidence.
Coach Andre Payette is really pleased to have Ozolins back in a Steeldogs’ shirt, as he created plenty of interest around the league, and is especially pleased he will be landing in time to play against Hull on Tuesday. Although the rest of the players have been training together, this will be an opportunity for the full team to gel before taking on the Steelers on September 6.
Tickets can be bought on the night at iceSheffield and are priced at: Adults £9, Concession £6.50, Child £3.50 and Family £20.
Tickets for the Steeldogs v Steelers game on 6th September can be bought at Tuesday’s game or from the Arena Box Office.
