Ben O'Connor is a versatile bloke - and not just when he is playing for Sheffield Steelers ice hockey club.
The defenceman can speak Russian - so acted as a translator when The Star interviewed Czech netminder Marek Pinc.
It is a language they both can take a stab at - but it is fair to say the interview wasn't a rip-roaring success.
One revelation to come out of it was the reason why Pinc quit his Beibarys Atyrau team in Kazakhstan - the club had seemingly housed him in a "prison" like hotel...and he had got depressed there.
Steelers will be hoping Pinc will be in the pink when he backstops the champions on Saturday night at Braehead Clan and Sunday, at home to Nottingham Panthers.
