Sheffield Steelers sparked wild celebrations at the Motorpoint Arena at the weekend after being crowned league champions.
A 2-1 win over Cardiff Devils, with Jeff Legue scoring the decisive goal, secured the title for the first time in four years on an emotional evening following the sad passing of Steelers superfan Amy Usher last week.
Coach Gerad Adams said: “It feels incredible. I thought we were the best team all year and we definitely proved that by finishing in first place. The players’ attitude has been spot-on all year so it is well deserved and I’m really happy for them.”
