Braehead Clan missed the opportunity to put pressure on second place Sheffield Steelers after they went down to a 4-1 Elite League defeat to struggling Manchester Storm.

Mathew Sisca, Luke Salazar and Omar Pacha had the Storm 3-0 up before the Clan got on the board through Neil Trimm with five minutes remaining.

But Ricards Birzinsh then put the game to bed with an empty-net goal just over two minutes later.

Clan are now three points behind Steelers with a single game in hand.

Brenden Walker scored twice to give Coventry Blaze a 6-5 victory over Fife Flyers and goals from Doug Clarkson, Riley Wetmore, Bobby Chaumont and Lou Dickenson saw Dundee Stars beat Edinburgh Capitals 4-1.
