ASHLEY Tait has joined the growing army of suitors that would like to see Jade Galbraith playing in a Sheffield Steelers uniform next season.
The League’s top scorer has been on several clubs’ wanted lists since he completed his astonishing debut campaign at Braehead Clan (38 goals and 57 assists in 54 matches.)
Coach Ryan Finnerty and several players have acknowledged his predatory skills and Sheffield are one of the clubs waiting for the forward to make up his mind up where he wants to play next season.
Tait said: “Galbraith is one of those players who can make the play to change a game. He only needs half a sniff at a puck and its in the back of the net.
“Whenever he is out on the ice opposing teams have to pay attention because his influence is huge.”
Tait said that while former Nottingham Panthers’ man Galbraith was an inferior skater to Steelers’ playmaker Jeff Legue and had a different style, the pair could be a fine match on the same line.
Tait, Steelers’ player assistant coach, is also awaiting news on who Sheffield will have in goal next year, since the departure of John DeCaro.
“We want a goalie that isn’t just good at Fife or Dundee but can do the business at Nottingham, Coventry and Belfast.”
