THE Elite League disciplinary committee today said will review comments “made in the media and on social media by Elite League coaches last weekend” - an indication they are to tackle Sheffield Steelers coach Ryan Finnerty over remarks he made to The Star on Sunday.
Finnerty called three officials ‘idiots’ for not spotting a stick incident in which Mark Thomas was cut.
Head of discipline, Simon Kirkham, said: “I am aware there has been comments made in the last few days criticising the officials.
“The committee will now review what has been said and ask the coaches to explain their actions.
“It is unacceptable for any coach, player or team management to air their views and criticisms in such a public manner.
“The committee will then report on their findings in the next 48 hours.”
