SHEFFIELD Steelers confirmed their position in the Challenge Cup Final tonight - yet they had to come from two goals behind the do so.
Leading 4-2 from the first leg against Braehead Clan, their game plan was to give little away defensively and ensure they made no silly mistakes.
With the League heading to elsewhere, a Cup final against Nottingham Panthers will at least give Sheffield fans a positive focus, before the Play Offs.
In the first cup semi final leg, last Wednesday, Drew Fata, Simon Ferguson, Tylor Michel and Jeff Legue did the damage, with Jordan Krestanovich and Robert Farmer getting what looked like consolation goals for the Glasgow team.
But it was Krestanovich, feeding off work from Matt Schepke made it 1-0 on the night at Sheffield, 4-3 on aggregate, at 06.21.
And it was 0-2 and 4-4 on the night, when Ash Goldie found a way past John DeCaro.
Jonathan Phillips put Sheffield back in it though at 21:31.
And another Brit, Lee Esders, gave the tie some safety with a goal at 52:59.
Ashley Tait on the powerplay made it 3-2 on the night, 7-4 on aggregate.
