Sheffield Steelers moved to the top of the Elite League after they completed their ninth successive win with a 3-2 shootout victory over Coventry Blaze.

Ben Simon put the Steelers ahead before Luke Fulgum and Dan Carlson responded and it appeared the Blaze had won before Derek Campbell levelled with 54 seconds left.

There were no further goals in overtime and after Joey Talbot scored for the hosts, Ervins Mustukovs saved from Brad Cruikshank to claim victory and the top of the table.

Braehead Clan had a thumping 7-1 victory over Newcastle Vipers while Hull Stingrays enjoyed a 6-3 win at Edinburgh Capitals.
