Belfast Giants consolidated their spot at the top of the Elite League with a 3-2 away win over Braehead Clan after a penalty shoot-out.

The victory keeps Belfast clear of Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Steelers at the top of the table.

Steelers are nine points behind but with seven games in hand over the Irish.

Ryan Finnerty’s men are chasing back to back wins at Edinburgh Capitals this weekend.

Caps have endured five straight defeats while Steelers have won their last seven.
