sheffield Steelers’ defenceman Mark Thomas scored a rare goal to send Steelers to a 4-0 shut out victory at Dundee Stars tonight.
After a barren first period, Sheffield took control when Mike Ramsay set up Thomas in the 21st minute.
And Thomas was a provider at 34;36 when Ashley Tait put the visitors 2-0 up.
The third period was only two minutes long when Ryan Finnerty put the game beyond doubt with a third.
The player coach added a second to make it 4-0 with two minutes left.
*Tomorrow night is the biggest test for Steelers and their player coach Ryan Finnerty since their opening day at Belfast.
They entertain Nottingham Panthers (5pm) - and owner Tony Smith hopes a win will help the task of filling the Arena in future matches.
