Mathieu Roy has every right to feel pleased with himself.
First of all, the Summer research he carried out on his prospective employers appears to have been confirmed - his new Sheffield Steelers team seem to have the hallmarks of trophy-contenders.
And, secondly, his own form has been awesome. In his first game, he scored twice at Cardiff. Then Roy scored three assists in both games against Fife.
The 27-year-old import said: “I am here to win and that’s what G (Gerad Adams) told me during the Summer. I looked at the line-up, did my research, I knew we had a good team and we have proved that in the last three games.”
Roy says he is delighted how well his line with Mike Forney and Colton Fretter has gelled. “We are doing pretty good for now, we clicked right away so that’s a good thing.”
The former Florida Everblades’ captain hopes the feelgood factor from last weekend’s 8-1 win over Fife will continue tomorrow, against Nottingham Panthers, away, and on Sunday, at home to Belfast Giants.
