Pay cuts plea
Steelers' stars Jonathan Phillips and Ashley Tait have been asked to take pay-cuts, according to team-mates.
And forward Joey Talbot may have to fund his own university package in a round of austerity measures being considered by owner Bob Phillips.
Phillips is clearly trying to manage a situation made more difficult by some sponsors pulling out and some fans threatening not to go to home games.
But players, particularly those with wives and families, will be studying the small print of their contracts this week.
