Nothing other than a win will do for Sheffield Steelers tomorrow.

Visiting Braehead Clan are five points ahead of them at the top of the League. And while Steelers have a game in hand, time is running out. “At this stage of the season we are running out of games, if we lose the gap between us and them will be too great” admitted coach Gerad Adams.

“To have any legitimate chance of winning this, we must beat them.”

Steelers were out of sorts in the final period at Coventry on Sunday and need to improve their overall team game to win tomorrow and look ahead to a weekend’s action which includes the Challenge Cup final.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Steeldogs have snapped a six game losing streak, with a 5-1 win over Bracknell.

Coach Andre Payette said: “We’ve got four games left before the play offs and have win them all. We have to go in that series on a high. With Dalibor Sedlar (netminder) allowing only one goal, that’s good for us, it would have been better to have a clean sheet but he played a real solid game.

“We are going to start building on our positives, I’m a believer that if there are fights, we win and we had 3 fights on Sunday and we won the game.

“You’ll see that for the rest of the year. We’re not going to roll over; we are going to fight hard. We are in a race with MK for 7th and if we tie them it means we advance to seventh and don’t have to play against Telford.

“Our game against Swindon is massive”.
