FOR a man who eventually wants to be a police officer, Tylor Michel has some pretty alarming habits.
Chief among them is punching people - although it must be said that is restricted to when he is on the ice. “He’s certainly an in-your-face type of player” says Lee Esders, who plays for the Sheffield Steelers team Michel is joining, from Cardiff Devils. “He always plays hard and finishes his checks, definitely the type you want on your team not their’s.”
The Canadian is a playing replacement for coach Ryan Finnerty, and Esders says: “That’s a pressure as they are big boots to fill. Fans are saying he is going to be the next Finner; it us up to Tylor how he deals with that.”
Michel, 28, played 36 times for Björklöven in Sweden last year, scoring 16+13 in League play and serving 110 minutes, his second highest penalty minute count.
