STEELDOGS host Slough Jets on Sunday (5.30pm) a day after a long journey to Guildford Flames in a tough preview of their cup final contest.
Sheffield had their highest scoring game this season in Slough recently, clocking up nine goals to their two, including four goals for Janis Ozolins and a hat trick for Edgars Bebris. However, the Jets have returned to winning ways.
Slough won their game against Bracknell to move two points clear of the Steeldogs and tying with Manchester, however Steeldogs have a match in hand, making Sunday’s game a must-win encounter.
Coach Andre Payette said: “Slough are always a top EPL team; it would be great to beat them and finish ahead of them in the table.”
On Saturday Steeldogs face their newly confirmed cup final opponents, Guildford, after they beat Manchester 5-4 on aggregate in the semi-finals. Guildford have the edge in the series with Steeldogs still to meet them twice in the league at the Spectrum.
The home and away final fixture dates can now be arranged and will be confirmed shortly. Dogs are in action at iceSheffield next Wednesday against Basingstoke.
